Hygiene and health are intimately interwoven, and poor hygiene is common to people experiencing homelessness. Practicing proper hygiene is key to a sense of self and an impetus to restoring one’s dignity.
Our Organization
Hygiene Freaks mission is to embrace those in need and to help restore dignity by providing basic personal hygiene products to our unhoused neighbors, underserved communities and to support the organizations that help serve them.
Hygiene and Health
When people don't have access to basic hygiene products, many consequences develop ranging from unemployment to serious diseases. We take things like toothpaste or a bar of soap for granted but so many are without.
Often people experiencing homelessness will use a local shelter or a day center for their hygiene needs. However, access isn’t necessarily guaranteed and there are times that they will not be able to bathe due to overcrowding and/or the shortage of resources.
Having their very own personal Hygiene Freaks hygiene kit will allow them to maintain their hygiene needs until it’s their turn at the shower.
